Private Collection – GB leather set

The Italian brand ‘Golf Brothers’ was a world-renowned leather goods company, specialised in the manufacture of highly exclusive handmade golfbag sets. In a small workshop in Gallarate (IT), the most exclusive leather goods were handmade with the necessary precision. Besides for world-renowned fashion houses and car brands, GB also made custom-made exclusive products for VIP’s and members of royal houses.
This cognac leather set which we present here was created for a unique project that Jan Pulles® had with this renowned leather house in the ’90s. The set is completely handcrafted mid-1997. The golf bag alone took many labour hours to be completed and the waiting time was about 12 months. Exactly the same golf bag, as shown here, also has been delivered to a famous Bond actor of the ’90s with Limited Edition nr. 198, and to a Beatle with Limited Edition nr.215.
The overall set consists of first-class high-quality Calf leather of Tuscan origin and tanned in tanneries associated with the ‘Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata’ consortium.
Furthermore, all set pieces are lined with original Sheep leather, also tanned according to Tuscan tradition. The exclusive personalised (brand) metal upholstery is of high quality.
This makes this set highly exclusive and original, reserved for a high niche clientele. Anyone who still owns one of these items today, will keep it carefully and use it with utmost regard. Being an exclusive product from the ’90s handmade by artisans, without any industrial applications.
All this makes this set extremely exclusive for enthusiasts and collectors. A very rare opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic pieces of the GB history. What is extra special about this Limited Edition set is that it is still unused, with even the original labels attached.
It does come with the note that the inner lining of some of the items developed some minor blemishes due to drying out of the leather. This is a normal evolution of a natural product like leather that does not get enough air and moisture for too long. This again shows the importance of respecting the soul of leather and treating it with utmost care.
This set, after an analysis made of the leather condition in 2021, has been treated intensively to restore the leather to its full splendour not losing sight of the identity of this natural product.
This set is Limited Edition No 271. Shown on the certificate and inscribed on the metal plate on the golf bag. Accompanied with an original GB catalogue as well as original photographic material, certification and ownership transfer documents.
